Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - FUN FUN FUN
This is loads of fun! Great for hot days when you need to entertain the kids! It keeps them busy for hours! Just be careful not to fall victim yourself!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great fun
This balloon launcher is a blast. With a three person launch team, we launched balloons 100 yards+. With one launcher, you really have to have some muscle. My only concern is durability. After two sessions of what I consider to be average usage (launching approx 50-75 balloons total), the tubing is already starting to crack. Remains to be seen how long it will last. But the launcher is a good value and loads of fun.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - As expected.
I bought this slingshot with the intentions of using it for my elementary physical education classes. It is perfect for that! Goes super far.. maybe even further than it says. The balloons that come with it are great... just don't overfill them or they will pop before they fly! Would be 5 stars if the denim part didn't bunch up after a few shots.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Best. $20. Ever.
My cousins and I have been using this launcher for a few months now. Considering we are all 18+ we strain this launcher far more than most children would, yet it remains durable and repeatable.

Shooting water balloons long distances with accuracy and precision is a breeze. The advertised range is 150-175 yards, I forget which exactly, but I can assure you with proper windage it's far beyond such.

Also, the ballistics of firing objects besides water balloons is impressive. Fruit, tennis balls, and other objects fly as if it were designed for them. However, one needs to remember the destructive capabilities and shoot responsibly.

For $20, it's hard to spend money that would be more entertaining. As long as you stay out of trouble and shoot safely, this launcher will provide hours and hours... and hours of fun.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - awsome
This thing is cool and shoots really far. great for summer fun
and at colleges and football games. I use it to keep dogs off my lawn, but do not put ammonia in your balloons. It could backfire.

We've seen some cool POV display setups in the past, like this bicycle spoke Obama propaganda message, but I don't recall one that could both amaze a person and take their limbs off at the same time. Called the "Display from Hell," that's pretty much what this thing does, all while projecting POV images using 100 blue SMD LEDs. The propeller, which spins at 140mph and is both huge and terrifying, was apparently rigged up for a party. A very dangerous party. From hell. Thanks, Joao! [Hackaday]

Prosecutors on Friday reached a plea agreement with former Connecticut school teacher Julie Amero, who at one time faced up to 40 years in prison after being convicted of endangering minors.

I've heard it said by Dave Winer and many many others: if only Dean had reinvested half the money raised into the Internet, then ...

OK, so you're the Dean Campaign Chief Information Officer in August 2003. The money starts to roll in. $20 million over six months, $2-4 million per month.

What would you spend the money on?

  1. What does your monthly budget look like?
  2. What is your application and infrastructure portfolio?
  3. How much will you allocate to maintenance?
  4. You're building from scratch, so what problems do you hope to avoid through wise architecture?
  5. What are your big milestones?
  6. Who are your key vendors?

How do you spend in consonance with the campaign strategy?

  1. How will you use the Internet to bring offline voters into the campaign at the same numbers as radio or television broadcasts?
  2. What is your online strategy for responding to attack ads and opposition pundits in radio, television and print?
  3. Online community takes time to build and is very hard to organize geographically. What will you do to match the state-by-state primary schedule?
  4. What can you do with online services to serve the campaign in caucus states?
  5. You are preparing for Bush to launch in Spring 2004. What are your countermeasures to reach out to moderate Republicans online while the GOP uses its advanced voter email systems to barrage 200 million validated email addresses?
  6. How will you lower the cost-per-vote vs. the GOP?

Hall & Oates are suing their publisher, Warner/Chappell Music Inc., claiming the publisher failed to enforce the copyright on their song "Maneater" and sue an unnamed singer-songwriter (quite possibly Nelly Furtado) for infringement. The only problem is, Timbaland and Nate "Danja" Hills - the composers of the Furtado track - also work for Warner/Chappel Music. What happens when publishers don't protect songwriters from other songwriters working for the same publisher.
