Editorial Review:

Product DescriptionIt's hard enough to carry your keys, wallet, and phone in that sorry excuse for a pocket on your board shorts. Where in the hell are you going to put a bottle opener? Unless you're crafty with a lighter or have teeth made of steel, something has to give. Good thing Reef knows what's upthe Men's Fanning Sandals come with a bottle opener built into the outer sole. Finally, a way to open your microbrews without resorting to a European carry-all. Not only do these flip-flops give you a way to drink your suds, but they feature super plush soles and thick straps that keep your feet comfortablewhile you're still standing, at least.

  • Sole: CMEVA, polyurethane

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Item
These sandals are usually a lot more expensive at the mall! My husband really likes the bottle opener on the sole of the shoe.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Price for the style
I brought this item for my husband, at first he was not sure the style but then we saw it on a tv show. He loves the ability to open bottles white fishing. Now all his friends want a pair. He owned the gel reefs before and says the comfort is the same. Happy from Miami.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent Quality Sandals
Reef Fanning Sandals are probably the most comfortable sandals on the market. They have heel and arch support that is better than some shoes. They look great and have a bottle cap opener on the bottom of the sandal. This keeps you prepared in case you have to remove a bottle cap from your beverage. Overrall these are very durable, great looking, and extemely comfortable sandals. I would defenitely buy them again if my sandals would ever wear out.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Best sandal I have ever owned, hands down.
I won't lie...I bought these for the bottle-opener cool factor, but they are definitely the most comfortable flip-flop styled sandals I have ever owned. I teach and have summers off, so these things literally are on my feet for 2 months straight. I've had the brown pair for over 3 years now and they show hardly any signs of wear at all! My feet sweat like a pig and these sandals don't have any odor to them whatsoever. I did buy the white/grey ones this summer and they do look a little grimey, but that is to be expected with a light colored sandal.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Not so comfortable
I purchased these sandals for my son who was not completely satisfied because he complained of them being too tight and narrow for him to slip on. And so could not wear them for a long period of time.

Java Entrepreneur

Sun Microsystems has announced plans to cut between 5,000 and 6,000 jobs — that's between 15 and 18 percent of its workforce.

"It blamed the cuts on the global economic downturn, but I think that like many other companies, Sun is using the downturn as an excuse for what were pre-existing problems, foretold by its stock price, which seems to be in an unending swoon," suggests GigaOM's Om Malik.

"How much has Sun spent to develop Solaris or Java?" asks InfoWorld's Neil McAllister. "How much must it continue to invest in maintaining other products, which, despite being open source, have no appreciable development community? To say these products are not loss leaders suggests something akin to Hollywood accounting."

The answer? "Spin off Java," McAllister added in a later post. "Just get rid of it — farm it out to an industry consortium and let the companies that depend upon it manage it..."
