Editorial Review:

Product DescriptionSpecifically designed for coastline adventures, Keen's rugged and comfortable Venice H2 Sandals feature a fast-drying (waterproof) polyester webbing upper that's lighter than the leather upper found on Keen's Men's Venice Sandal. Everything else about the design is the same. Inside the polyester webbing is a moisture-wicking Aegis Microbe-Shield SBR lining that (unless you missed the sizing) doesn't usually scrape or chafe the top of your foot after wading through a pond or along a seashore. Keen's Venice H2 Sandals are fully washable and feature Keen's patented toe bumper up front. The non-marking carbon rubber outsole is excellent for guys who want to wear the same footwear throughout the day--even if that's on polished hardwood floors back at home.

Features:
  • Washable polyester webbing upper with a moisture-wicking, Aegis Microbe-Shield SBR lining
  • Comfortable V-strap forefoot closure helps secure sandal to your foot
  • Compression molded EVA midsole
  • Comfortable, metatomical low durometer EVA molded footbed
  • Keen patented protective toe bumper

Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - incredibly comfortable with only one issue
Great sandal that is very comfortable. Worked very well in on 3 hour hikes and deep in the water which was nice since we came across stingrays buried very close to shore. Not something you want to step on barefoot as my friend who did, can attest to.

As others have stated the only issue I ran into was getting sand trapped in the front portion of the sandal. This was not a problem on some beaches with fine sand, however another beach mostly comprised of small pebbles and rock was very annoying as it got trapped in the toe guard. Wading in water doesn't help and really only taking them off and rinsing them worked.

But other then that, they were great. Very comfortable, look good and if you have funny looking toes, these will cover them up. The only other thing I recommend is sun block otherwise you'll have a web pattern on your foot from where the sun gets through.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - great shoe!
The Keen Venice H2 is a perfect solution for warm all-weather daily living. It's lighter and airier even that the Newport. I wear mine all day from the beach to the jungle and don't notice they're on. The comfortable fit around the ankle eliminates the need to grip the toes and lets me walk naturally over rocks and everything else! The sole is solid and supportive without being heavy. In my book, Keen hit a home run with these!

We've seen some cool POV display setups in the past, like this bicycle spoke Obama propaganda message, but I don't recall one that could both amaze a person and take their limbs off at the same time. Called the "Display from Hell," that's pretty much what this thing does, all while projecting POV images using 100 blue SMD LEDs. The propeller, which spins at 140mph and is both huge and terrifying, was apparently rigged up for a party. A very dangerous party. From hell. Thanks, Joao! [Hackaday]

Prosecutors on Friday reached a plea agreement with former Connecticut school teacher Julie Amero, who at one time faced up to 40 years in prison after being convicted of endangering minors.

I've heard it said by Dave Winer and many many others: if only Dean had reinvested half the money raised into the Internet, then ...

OK, so you're the Dean Campaign Chief Information Officer in August 2003. The money starts to roll in. $20 million over six months, $2-4 million per month.

What would you spend the money on?

  1. What does your monthly budget look like?
  2. What is your application and infrastructure portfolio?
  3. How much will you allocate to maintenance?
  4. You're building from scratch, so what problems do you hope to avoid through wise architecture?
  5. What are your big milestones?
  6. Who are your key vendors?

How do you spend in consonance with the campaign strategy?

  1. How will you use the Internet to bring offline voters into the campaign at the same numbers as radio or television broadcasts?
  2. What is your online strategy for responding to attack ads and opposition pundits in radio, television and print?
  3. Online community takes time to build and is very hard to organize geographically. What will you do to match the state-by-state primary schedule?
  4. What can you do with online services to serve the campaign in caucus states?
  5. You are preparing for Bush to launch in Spring 2004. What are your countermeasures to reach out to moderate Republicans online while the GOP uses its advanced voter email systems to barrage 200 million validated email addresses?
  6. How will you lower the cost-per-vote vs. the GOP?

Hall & Oates are suing their publisher, Warner/Chappell Music Inc., claiming the publisher failed to enforce the copyright on their song "Maneater" and sue an unnamed singer-songwriter (quite possibly Nelly Furtado) for infringement. The only problem is, Timbaland and Nate "Danja" Hills - the composers of the Furtado track - also work for Warner/Chappel Music. What happens when publishers don't protect songwriters from other songwriters working for the same publisher.
